Diary of a Wimpy Kid, by Jeff Kinney, is written from the perspective of a boy about to start middle school. Greg Heffley writes in his "diary" to tell the tales of what it really feels like to be a kid. This hilarious novel allows the reader to fully relate, as they are thrusted into Greg Heffley's no so great middle school years.

These books are such a big hit in elementary school now! By making it into a series was definitely a great way to encourage reading.
